Olimpas is a basketball club founded in 2023, aiming to establish itself in Lithuanian basketball. The team is based in the picturesque seaside town of Palanga. It is one of the biggest attractions of the Baltic Sea coast, a city famous for its natural beauty, tranquillity and quality of life. It is also a city with an international airport.
Olimpas plays its home games in the Palanga Sports Centre Arena, which can host European competitions such as the FIBA Champions League or the European Cup. The arena has 1500 seats.
The team is owned and managed by the Vainauskas family, who are known for their significant contribution to Lithuanian basketball. Managed by Gedvydas and Jonas Vainauskas, Lietuvos rytas team has won two European Cup and five Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) titles.
